There
are loads of affordable, eco-friendly products
available at your local grocery store (including
reusable bags!) & plenty of super easy changes
you can make in your day-to-day life that will
benefit the future of our planet.
Here are a handful of suggestions as to how with
very little effort, your home can become a green
one ….because it really simply makes a great
deal of sense!

Clean
Green! |
|
Use natural fruit and
vegetable derived personal & baby
washes, household cleaners, detergents,
and disinfectants. That’s right - there
are in fact all natural disinfectants
which use thyme oil to kill 99.9% of
household germs! These products are
accessible & affordable for everyone who
cleans, not to mention safe for our
babies’ skin, toys & highchairs along
with harmless for the environment…..also
look for concentrated & cold water
formulas, which use less plastic
packaging & help conserve energy…nice!

Apply the 3 R’s &
Compost! |

Reduce
the amount of energy your home uses by
retrofitting light bulbs (& flicking them off
when not in use), faucets, windows, furnaces &
AC units for energy efficient alternatives. The
Canadian government provides rebates for big
changes like this which helps alleviate cost to
you, & you’ll definitely see great savings on
energy bills! Unplug anything that doesn’t have
a power-off switch, because although you’re not
using them- adapters and other small appliances
still draw power when they’re plugged in. Reuse
whenever you can. Grocery store bags, lunch
containers, coffee mugs… converting to anything
reusable, especially frequently used items,
truly supports eco-friendly living. Recycle! You
have a bin...fill it up! Whenever you are about
to throw an item away, stop & think about
whether it’s a recyclable or biodegradable
material & pay attention to how little you have
to actually contribute to garbage collection!

Shop
Organic! |
|
We’ve already explained the
environmental & health benefits of
organic cotton growth, & the same
principles remain with food. No
chemicals, no preservatives, or
artificial this & that, no hormones,
just naturally grown goodness! No
worries about eating chemicals you can’t
even pronounce, & who knows what
research will discover next about the
detrimental effects some commonly used
synthetic food additive has on our
health! Why take the risk? Promote
sustainability & support an industry
that includes fair practices!
